Symptoms

The drive has detected that the motor is operating in a stalled condition. The motor speed is significantly below the commanded speed while drawing high current.

Possible Causes

  • Mechanical load is jammed or seized
  • Motor is undersized for the application
  • Excessive starting torque required
  • Motor parameters are incorrectly set

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check the mechanical load for jams or excessive friction
    Load rotates freely without excessive resistance
  2. Step 2: Verify motor parameters match the motor nameplate
    Parameters are correct
  3. Step 3: Check parameter 31.24 (stall function selection) and configure appropriately
    Stall protection is configured for the application
  4. Step 4: If the motor is genuinely undersized, upgrade to a larger motor and drive
    New motor/drive handles the load without stalling

How to Reset

To reset: This is a warning - it does not require a reset. The warning clears automatically when the stall condition is resolved. If the drive trips, press RESET.
