Applicable Systems
IndraDrive
Symptoms
The IndraDrive reports an encoder hardware fault. The encoder internal electronics have failed and cannot produce the feedback signal.
Possible Causes
- Encoder internal circuit board failure
- Encoder optical or magnetic sensing element damaged
- Encoder power supply circuit failure in the drive
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the encoder power supply voltage at the drive output
Encoder receives correct supply voltage - Step 2: Test the encoder output with an oscilloscope for signal presence
No signal output from the encoder - Step 3: Replace the encoder or motor with built-in encoder if faulty
New encoder produces correct signal
How to Reset
To reset: Replace the faulty encoder, then reset and restart.
