Symptoms
Shutdown - Rotor fault. The alternator rotor has a fault and the generator has shut down.
Possible Causes
- Rotor winding short circuit
- Rotor diode wheel failure
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the rotor winding resistance and insulation
Winding is shorted or insulation is degraded - Step 2: Replace or rewind the rotor
New rotor operates normally
How to Reset
To reset: Repair or replace the rotor, then reset the controller.
