PUMA MX Series
PUMA TT Series
Symptoms
Arm (bucket) crowd-in pilot pressure anomaly. The arm crowd-in pilot pressure sensor is reporting an abnormal value.
Possible Causes
- Sensor or wiring harness fault (open circuit, short circuit, or corrosion)
- Controller internal fault (EEPROM, RAM, or A/D converter failure)
- Sensor calibration drift or sensor element degradation
- Wiring connector loose, corroded, or water ingress
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Read the active fault code on the excavator monitor panel
Fault code displayed with status and timestamp - Step 2: Inspect the relevant sensor and wiring harness for visible damage, corrosion, or loose connections
Wiring intact, connectors clean and seated properly - Step 3: Disconnect the sensor connector and measure signal voltage with key ON
Voltage within the sensor specified range (typically 0.5-4.5V for analog sensors) - Step 4: If wiring checks good, replace the sensor and clear the fault code
Fault clears after sensor replacement and key cycle
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Repair or replace the faulty sensor or wiring. 2) Turn the key OFF then ON to clear the code. 3) Start the engine and verify the fault is no longer active. Caution: Do not operate the excavator with active system faults as it may cause hydraulic pump or engine damage.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What does Doosan excavator fault code 17 mean?
Arm Crowdin Pilot Pressure Anomaly. The arm crowd-in pilot pressure sensor is reporting an abnormal value.
- Q: Can I continue operating the excavator with this fault active?
It depends on the severity. Critical faults (01, 02, 20, 21) require immediate shutdown. Major faults should be investigated at the next opportunity. Minor faults may allow limited operation.
