Symptoms

The swing gear oil level is low, and the swing reducer temperature has risen above 80C (176F). The controller logs a swing system warning.

Step 1: Check the swing gear oil level at the inspection plug and inspect for leaks
Top up with SAE 80W-90 gear oil and repair the output seal if leaking
Step 2: Drain a small oil sample and inspect for water contamination or metal particles
If contaminated, drain and refill the entire swing reducer
Step 3: Test the swing brake release by measuring brake pressure during swing operation
Brake should fully release at the rated pressure; if not, inspect the brake piston seals
Step 4: Measure the swing reducer temperature with an infrared thermometer during operation
If above 80C, reduce swing cycle frequency and allow cooling

Reset: The warning clears once the swing reducer temperature drops below 70C and oil level is restored.
