DPF Regeneration - Cannot Complete

Komatsu Heavy Equipment Warning Exhaust

Model: Komatsu PC490 Excavator | Code: CA375

Applicable Systems
PC200 Excavator

Symptoms

DPF regeneration failed to complete; soot loading continues to increase; engine may derate if not addressed.

Possible Causes

  • Exhaust gas temperature too low for regen
  • DPF substrate cracked or melted
  • DEF dosing system malfunction

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check DPF soot loading percentage
    Soot loading > 100%
  2. Step 2: Verify exhaust gas temperature during regen attempt
    EGT reaches 600C for regen
  3. Step 3: Inspect DEF dosing valve operation
    Valve sprays during regen
  4. Step 4: Check for exhaust leaks before DPF
    No leaks found
  5. Step 5: Perform forced stationary regen or replace DPF
Soot loading < 30% after regen

How to Reset

Clear via service monitor after successful regen or DPF replacement.

Common Replacement Parts

  • DPF Assembly P/N: 621-06-62100

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: When does DPF need replacement vs cleaning?

If ash loading exceeds 200% or substrate is cracked/melted, DPF must be replaced. Soot can be burned off by regen, ash cannot.
