Symptoms
The vehicle speed sensor signal is abnormal. Speedometer and transmission control may be affected.
Possible Causes
- Speed sensor output weak or erratic
- Sensor wiring open or shorted
- Sensor tone wheel damaged or misaligned
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Test speed sensor output with scope or multimeter
Sensor signal abnormal confirmed - Step 2: Check sensor wiring for opens and shorts
Wiring intact - Step 3: Inspect sensor tone wheel for damage
Tone wheel intact and aligned
How to Reset
To reset: Clear the DTC after restoring the speed sensor signal.
