Symptoms
The powertrain control module has an internal fault. Engine and transmission control may be affected.
Possible Causes
- PCM internal memory checksum error
- PCM processor or circuit failure
- PCM programming corrupted or outdated
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check for additional DTCs that may indicate related faults
Related DTCs noted - Step 2: Verify PCM software version and reflash if needed
Software updated successfully - Step 3: Replace PCM if internal fault persists after reflash
New PCM resolves fault
How to Reset
To reset: Clear the DTC after resolving the PCM internal fault or replacement.
