Symptoms
The SCADA system reports a communication interruption. The connection to a PLC or remote station is lost.
Possible Causes
- Network cable disconnected or damaged
- PLC or communication processor fault
- Network switch or router failure
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the network cable connections
Connections are secure at both ends - Step 2: Verify the PLC communication processor status
Processor shows normal operation - Step 3: Check the network switch port activity
Port shows active link
How to Reset
To reset: Restore the communication link, then acknowledge the alarm in WinCC.
