Symptoms
A motor is not operating correctly, resulting in reduced or no airflow, rotation, or drive function.
Possible Causes
- Motor winding open or shorted
- Motor bearing seized or worn
- Capacitor failed or degraded
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check motor winding resistance and insulation
Windings within specification - Step 2: Inspect motor bearings for smooth rotation
Bearings rotate freely - Step 3: Test motor capacitor and replace if out of specification
Capacitor within rating or replaced
How to Reset
To reset: Reset the motor fault after repairing or replacing the motor.
