Baxi Heating Boiler
Symptoms
The Baxi boiler displays fault code BX007, indicating a flue or chimney blockage. The boiler detects restricted flue gas flow, risking carbon monoxide leakage into the living space.
Possible Causes
- Flue terminal is blocked by a bird nest, wasp nest, or external debris such as snow or leaves
- Flue pipe has collapsed internally or the flue liner has deteriorated and partially obstructed the passage
- Flue pressure sensing tube is kinked, blocked, or disconnected from the pressure switch
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the flue terminal externally for bird nests, debris, or snow blockage
Flue terminal is clear and unobstructed with no external blockages visible - Step 2: Check the internal flue pipe for collapsed sections or loose joints
Flue pipe is intact with all joints secured and no collapsed or blocked sections - Step 3: Verify the flue pressure sensing tube is connected, not kinked, and clear of blockages
Tube is connected securely, not kinked, and air passes freely through it when blown
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Clear the external flue terminal blockage. 2) Repair or replace damaged flue pipe sections. 3) Reconnect or replace the sensing tube. 4) Press RESET and verify the fan and flue operation.
