Symptoms
The IndraDrive reports a following error fault. The position following error exceeded the tolerance, indicating the axis cannot track the command.
Possible Causes
- Load torque exceeding the motor and drive capacity
- Position loop gain too low for the load inertia
- Mechanical friction or binding preventing smooth motion
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the mechanical system for binding, friction, or excessive load
Mechanical system moves freely without binding - Step 2: Increase the position loop gain within stability limits
Following error is within the tolerance band - Step 3: If load exceeds capacity, upgrade the motor and drive sizing
System tracks the command within tolerance
How to Reset
To reset: Reduce the following error below tolerance, then reset and restart.
