Symptoms
The generator set reports a generator undervoltage. The output voltage is below the rated value.
Possible Causes
- Voltage regulator failure or low excitation
- Excessive load exceeding generator capacity
- Alternator winding or diode fault
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the output voltage
Voltage is within the rated range - Step 2: Verify the voltage regulator and excitation
System maintains correct voltage - Step 3: Check the load against the generator capacity
Load is within the rated capacity
How to Reset
To reset: Restore normal voltage, then reset the protection.
