Symptoms
The boiler reports a blowdown valve leak. The bottom blowdown valve is leaking or passing water.
Possible Causes
- Valve seat worn or damaged
- Valve packing gland leaking
- Valve not fully closed
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the blowdown valve seat
Seat is smooth and seals correctly - Step 2: Check and tighten the valve packing gland
Packing seals without leakage - Step 3: Verify the valve is fully closed
Valve closes completely
How to Reset
To reset: Repair the blowdown valve, then clear the alarm.
