Symptoms
Shutdown - Exciter fault. The alternator exciter has a fault and the generator has shut down.
Possible Causes
- Exciter winding failure
- Exciter diode failure
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the exciter winding and diodes
Winding is open or diodes are shorted - Step 2: Replace the exciter components
New exciter operates normally
How to Reset
To reset: Repair or replace the exciter, then reset the controller.
