Symptoms
The air conditioner reports a compressor overload. The compressor motor current exceeds the rated value.
Possible Causes
- Excessive load from high compression ratio
- Low supply voltage causing high current
- Compressor motor winding degradation

- Step 1: Check motor current against rated FLA
Current is within limits - Step 2: Verify supply voltage at the compressor
Voltage is within 10 percent of rated - Step 3: Test compressor motor insulation
Insulation exceeds minimum standard
How to Reset
To reset: Clear the overload, allow the motor to cool, then reset.
