Symptoms
The crane reports a safety limit overtravel. The hook or trolley has moved beyond the safety limit position.
Possible Causes
- Safety limit switch misadjusted or bypassed
- Operator error driving beyond the limit
- Limit switch cam or actuator damaged
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Verify the safety limit switch adjustment
Switch activates at the correct position - Step 2: Inspect the limit switch cam and actuator
Components are intact - Step 3: Check that the switch is not bypassed
Safety circuit is intact
How to Reset
To reset: Move the crane within limits, repair the switch, then reset the safety circuit.
