Symptoms

The FRENIC reports a parameter write protection fault. An attempt was made to modify parameters while write protection is active.

Possible Causes

  • Write protection is enabled preventing parameter modification
  • Password protection is active and the wrong password was entered
  • Hardware write-protect switch is in the locked position

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check the write protection setting and disable it via the keypad
    Write protection is disabled
  2. Step 2: Enter the correct password if password protection is active
    Password is accepted and protection is cleared
  3. Step 3: Check the hardware write-protect switch position if equipped
    Switch is in the write-enabled position

How to Reset

To reset: Disable write protection, then modify and save parameters.
