Applicable Systems
FRENIC
Symptoms
The FRENIC reports an over-torque fault. The motor torque exceeded the configured over-torque detection level.
Possible Causes
- Mechanical load requiring more torque than the configured limit
- Process condition change increasing the load torque demand
- Over-torque detection level set too low for the application
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the mechanical load for excessive torque demand
Load torque is within the normal range - Step 2: Verify the over-torque detection level is appropriate
Detection level matches the application requirement - Step 3: Increase the over-torque level if the load legitimately requires more torque
Level is set to accommodate the load
How to Reset
To reset: Reduce the torque below the limit or adjust the level, then reset.
