Haitian Injection Molding Machine
Symptoms
The Haitian injection molding machine displays alarm HT005, indicating mold temperature anomaly. The mold temperature controller is not maintaining the setpoint, risking poor surface finish, warpage, or extended cycle time.
Possible Causes
- Mold temperature controller water heater element has failed or the chiller is over-cooling
- Mold cooling channel is blocked with scale or debris, reducing heat transfer between the mold and the coolant
- Mold thermocouple has drifted or the controller PID is poorly tuned, causing temperature oscillation
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the mold temperature controller heater and chiller operation
Controller maintains the setpoint within 2C when the mold is at operating temperature - Step 2: Inspect and flush the mold cooling channels for scale or debris blockage
All cooling channels flow freely with balanced flow rates across the mold - Step 3: Calibrate the mold thermocouple and verify the controller PID tuning
Thermocouple is accurate and the temperature holds steady with no oscillation or overshoot
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Replace the controller heater or adjust the chiller. 2) Flush blocked cooling channels. 3) Recalibrate the thermocouple and tune the PID. 4) Press RESET. 5) Verify mold temperature stability during production.
