Symptoms

Sigma Control 2 has lost Ethernet communication with the Kaeser Sigma Air Manager (SAM) central controller. The compressor runs in standalone mode; load-sharing and sequencing are disabled.

Ethernet cable disconnected or damaged between the compressor and the network switch
IP address conflict after a network reconfiguration or DHCP lease expiration
SAM software version incompatible with the Sigma Control 2 firmware version
Network switch port disabled or spanning-tree blocking the connection

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1: Check the link LED on the Sigma Control 2 Ethernet port and the switch port
Re-seat the RJ45 cable and test with a known-good cable. Verify the cable is Cat5e or better
Step 2: Access the Sigma Control 2 network settings and verify the IP, subnet, and gateway
Ensure the IP is in the same subnet as the SAM and does not conflict with another device
