AKD
Symptoms
The AKD reports an encoder calibration error. The encoder zero position or commutation alignment data is invalid or lost.
Possible Causes
- Encoder battery backup failure causing calibration data loss
- Encoder was replaced without performing the calibration procedure
- Commutation alignment shift due to mechanical coupling change
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the encoder battery and replace if depleted
Battery voltage is adequate - Step 2: Perform the encoder calibration procedure as specified in the manual
Calibration completes and data is stored - Step 3: Verify the mechanical coupling between motor and encoder is secure
Coupling is tight with no backlash
How to Reset
To reset: Perform the encoder calibration, then cycle power and restart.
