Symptoms

Touch is completely unresponsive; no beep or visual feedback on any screen area.

Possible Causes

  • Touch controller IC on the mainboard not detected during boot initialization.
  • Flat flex cable (FFC) between touch digitizer and mainboard partially disconnected.
  • Driver IC inside the touch panel damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Reboot the GP4000 and enter the system menu to check 'Touch Panel' status.
    Status shows 'Connected' and calibration utility is accessible.
  2. Step 2: Open the unit, inspect the FFC connector for the touch panel, and reseat it.
    Connector latches correctly and no visible pin damage is present.
  3. Step 3: Perform ESD discharge procedure on the operator and test with a grounded stylus.
    Touch responds normally when ESD precautions are followed.

How to Reset

Reseat the touch FFC cable, verify ESD protection, and recalibrate the touch panel in system setup.
