Applicable Systems
GP4000 Series
Symptoms
GP-Pro EX runtime hangs on the splash screen and never loads the main project.
Possible Causes
- Project file (.prx) corrupted during an interrupted USB transfer.
- Runtime executable incompatible with the current SP5000 firmware revision.
- SD card containing the project is formatted with an unsupported file system (exFAT).
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Copy the .prx file back to the PC and verify its CRC or recompile from GP-Pro EX.
Recompiled project transfers and loads successfully. - Step 2: Check the SP5000 firmware version in the system information screen.
Firmware is at the minimum version required by the runtime release notes. - Step 3: Reformat the SD card to FAT32 with 32 KB cluster size and reload the project.
Card is recognized and the project boots past the splash screen.
How to Reset
Recompile the project in GP-Pro EX, update firmware if needed, reformat storage to FAT32, and reload.
