Symptoms
Motor phase loss detected. The drive senses that one of the three output phases (U, V, or W) is not carrying current. The motor may hum, vibrate, or fail to start.
Possible Causes
- Motor winding open circuit in one phase
- Output cable broken or loose connection at drive or motor terminal
- Drive output phase IGBT not switching
- Motor terminal box loose connection
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check all motor cable connections at drive output terminals U, V, W
All terminals torqued to specification; no loose connections - Step 2: Measure continuity of each motor cable conductor
All three phases show continuity end-to-end - Step 3: Measure motor winding resistance for all three phase pairs (U-V, V-W, U-W)
All three readings should be approximately equal (within 5%) - Step 4: If motor and cable are good, the drive output stage has a failed IGBT and must be replaced

How to Reset
1) Power off and disconnect motor cables. 2) Check all terminal connections. 3) Megger test motor windings. 4) Check cable continuity. 5) Replace drive if motor/cable are good. Caution: Running a 3-phase motor with a missing phase can damage the motor.

Prolonged operation with a missing phase can cause motor overheating and winding damage. Address the fault immediately.
