Symptoms
+24V supply fault. The internal 24V DC supply rail (for digital inputs/outputs and brake control) is out of specification.
Possible Causes
- Internal 24V power supply regulator failure
- External 24V overload from too many sensors or relays connected to drive outputs
- Short circuit in external wiring to digital outputs
- Brake resistor wiring short
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check all external wiring connected to the drive 24V outputs for short circuits
No continuity to ground or between output circuits - Step 2: Calculate total current draw of all devices powered from drive 24V output
Total current within drive rated output capacity (typically 0.5A) - Step 3: Disconnect external 24V loads and restart
If F8070 clears, reduce external load or use a separate 24V supply - Step 4: If F8070 persists with no external load, internal 24V regulator has failed
Control board replacement required
How to Reset
1) Disconnect all 24V external loads. 2) Restart drive. 3) If clear, find overloaded circuit. 4) Use separate 24V supply for external devices. 5) Replace control module if internal fault.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: Can I power external sensors from the drive 24V output?
Yes, but the total current is limited (typically 0.5A). For multiple sensors, use a dedicated 24V power supply to avoid F8070.
- Q: What is the typical 24V output capacity?
Most IndraDrive models provide 24V at 0.5A for digital inputs. Do not use this for relay coils or high-current loads.
