Symptoms

The drive has detected a short circuit between output phases or between an output phase and ground. This is a critical fault that requires immediate attention.

Possible Causes

  • Short circuit between motor output phases (T1-T2, T2-T3, T1-T3)
  • Short circuit between motor output and ground
  • Motor winding insulation failure
  • Motor cable damaged and shorting

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Disconnect the motor cables from the drive output terminals
    Cables are safely disconnected
  2. Step 2: Measure resistance between all motor phases and between each phase and ground
    No short circuits detected - all resistances are within motor specifications
  3. Step 3: Inspect motor cable insulation along the entire length
    Cable insulation is intact with no damage
  4. Step 4: If motor and cables are OK, the drive output stage may be damaged - contact Schneider service
    Drive is tested and repaired if needed

How to Reset

To reset: 1) Disconnect motor and check for shorts. 2) Repair any short circuit found. 3) Press STOP/RESET. 4) Restart. Do NOT reset without fixing the short - drive damage may result.
