Street Crane Street Crane Overhead Crane Error Code ST001

Street Crane Crane Critical Overload

Model: Street Crane Overhead Crane | Code: ST001

Applicable Systems
Street Crane Overhead Crane

Symptoms

The Street Crane system displays alarm ST001, indicating hoist overload detected. The load being lifted exceeds the rated capacity of the crane, triggering an immediate safety stop.

Possible Causes

  • Actual load weight exceeds the crane's rated Safe Working Load due to incorrect loading or material density assumption
  • Load cell has drifted or failed, causing the system to incorrectly report an overload when the load is within capacity
  • Dynamic loading during acceleration or deceleration has caused the instantaneous load to spike above the SWL threshold

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check the actual load weight against the crane's rated Safe Working Load on the load plate
Actual load is at or below the rated SWL, confirming no true overload condition
  2. Step 2: Verify the load cell reading against a calibrated reference weight or a known load
Load cell reading matches the known load within 2 percent of the rated capacity
  3. Step 3: Review the crane acceleration and deceleration settings to reduce dynamic loading spikes
Acceleration ramp is set to minimize dynamic load spikes below 110 percent of the static load

How to Reset

To reset: 1) Reduce the load to within the rated SWL. 2) Replace or recalibrate the load cell. 3) Adjust acceleration ramps. 4) Press RESET on the crane controller. 5) Verify the crane lifts the load without overload alarm.
