Sullair LS Series Error Code S006

Sullair Compressor Minor Communication

Model: LS Series | Code: S006

Applicable Systems
LS Series

Symptoms

Sullair Supervisor controller has lost communication with the optional remote monitoring module (RMM). Local compressor operation is unaffected; remote monitoring and SMS alerts are disabled.

Possible Causes

  • Ethernet or RS-485 cable disconnected between the controller and the RMM
  • RMM IP address conflict or subnet mismatch after a network configuration change
  • RMM firmware incompatible with the Supervisor controller software version

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check the link LED on the RMM Ethernet port and the cable connection at both ends
Re-seat the RJ45 connector and verify the cable passes a continuity test with a tester
  2. Step 2: Access the RMM web interface by typing its IP address into a browser on the same subnet
If unreachable, check the IP, subnet mask, and gateway settings against the IT network plan
  3. Step 3: Check the RMM firmware version on its status page and compare to the Supervisor release notes
Update RMM firmware via USB or network if a version mismatch is confirmed

How to Reset

Reset: Once network connectivity is restored, the Supervisor will auto-reconnect within 30 seconds. No manual reset is required on the compressor controller.

Common Replacement Parts

  • 2500-4200-00: Remote monitoring module, Ethernet (Includes DIN rail mount and antenna)
  • 2500-4201-00: RMM firmware update USB drive (Pre-loaded with latest firmware image)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Does the compressor stop if RMM communication is lost?

No. The compressor runs normally in local mode. Only remote start/stop and cloud monitoring are affected.

  • Q: What port does the RMM use?

Port 80 for HTTP status page, port 502 for Modbus TCP, and port 443 for cloud uplink. Ensure the firewall allows outbound connections on these ports.
