Symptoms
Compressor motor overload. The compressor motor has drawn excessive current and the overload protection has tripped.
Possible Causes
- Compressor motor winding short or degradation
- System operating outside design conditions causing overcurrent
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the compressor motor current with a clamp meter
Current exceeds the rated value - Step 2: Measure motor winding resistance for shorts
Winding resistance indicates a short
How to Reset
To reset: Fix the motor or system issue, then reset the overload protection.
