Applicable Systems

Symptoms
Swing brake does not hold on slopes; machine creeps when parked.
Possible Causes
- Swing brake disc worn below minimum thickness.
- Brake piston seal leaking hydraulic pressure.
- Brake control valve not releasing pressure fully when applied.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Measure brake disc thickness with micrometer.
Thickness ≥ 8.5 mm; no heat cracks > 5 mm long. - Step 2: Pressurize brake circuit and monitor case drain flow.
Case drain ≤ 2 L/min; no steady flow indicates seal good. - Step 3: Check brake valve electrical command with test lamp.
Lamp bright at 24 V when brake switch engaged.
How to Reset
Replace brake discs and piston seals; replace brake valve if stuck.
