Symptoms
MT8071iE does not boot; power LED is solid amber and no backlight.
Possible Causes
- Pre-boot self-test failure in the power sequencing logic.
- Corrupted bootloader image on the internal eMMC flash.
- External 24 VDC supply polarity reversed, triggering the reverse-polarity protection circuit.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Measure DC input polarity with a multimeter referenced to the terminal block silkscreen.
L+ is positive and M is negative with respect to chassis ground. - Step 2: Perform a bootloader recovery using the Weintek OS update tool via USB.
Bootloader recovers, the LED turns green, and the system menu is accessible. - Step 3: Check the internal eMMC health status in the HMI system information screen.
eMMC shows 'Good' health and no bad-block count increase.
How to Reset
Correct DC polarity, recover the bootloader via USB, and verify eMMC health status.
