GA Series Compressed Air System
Symptoms
The compressor reports a safety valve activation. The system safety valve has opened to relieve excess pressure.
Possible Causes
- System pressure exceeded the safety valve setpoint
- Safety valve setpoint drifted too low
- Safety valve seat damaged causing premature opening
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Investigate and correct the overpressure cause
System pressure returns to normal - Step 2: Verify the safety valve setpoint
Setpoint matches the system specification - Step 3: Replace the safety valve if it does not reseat
New valve seals and holds pressure
How to Reset
To reset: Resolve the overpressure, reseat or replace the safety valve, then clear the alarm.
