Applicable Systems
PLC
Symptoms
The PLC reports a parameter loss fault. One or more parameters were lost from non-volatile memory due to corruption or battery failure.
Possible Causes
- Battery failure causing memory data loss during power-off
- EEPROM corruption due to electrical noise or write interruption
- Memory chip degradation due to age or thermal stress
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the battery voltage and replace if depleted
Battery voltage is adequate - Step 2: Reload all parameters from a known-good backup or from nameplate values
Parameters are restored correctly - Step 3: Save the parameters to EEPROM and verify the write
Parameters are stored successfully
How to Reset
To reset: Reload and re-save all parameters, then cycle power and restart.
