Symptoms
An expansion module reports a short circuit. An output channel has been shorted.
Possible Causes
- Output channel shorted to ground or another phase
- Field device internal short circuit
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Disconnect the output wiring and check for short circuits
Short circuit is identified on the output - Step 2: Repair the short circuit or replace the damaged field device
No short circuit after repair
How to Reset
To reset: Fix the short circuit, then power-cycle the module.
