Symptoms
When attempting to run the PLC, a syntax error is detected in the ladder program. The PLC cannot enter RUN mode and returns error code 7 to indicate that the program contains invalid instructions or logic.
Possible Causes
- Ladder program contains invalid or unsupported instructions
- Instruction operands reference non-existent components or addresses
- Program was edited outside of WinProladder or corrupted during transfer
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Connect with WinProladder and perform a syntax check on the ladder program
Syntax checker identifies the specific error location and type - Step 2: Navigate to the identified error location and correct the invalid instruction or operand
Instruction is corrected to a valid form - Step 3: Re-run the syntax check to confirm no additional errors
Syntax check passes with no errors - Step 4: Download the corrected program and enter RUN mode
PLC enters RUN mode successfully
How to Reset
Correct all syntax errors identified by WinProladder's syntax checker, then re-download the program and cycle power.
