Symptoms
The communication command requests a function that is not supported by the target PLC model or firmware version. The PLC rejects the request and returns error code 9.
Possible Causes
- Command is not supported by the specific PLC model (e.g., FBs vs B1 series)
- Firmware version does not implement the requested function
- Communication module does not support the requested command type
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the FATEK programming manual to verify that the command is supported by the target PLC model
Command compatibility is confirmed or denied - Step 2: If the command is not supported, use an alternative command or upgrade to a compatible PLC model
Alternative approach is identified and implemented - Step 3: If the command should be supported, check the firmware version and update if necessary
Firmware is current and supports the requested function
How to Reset
Use an alternative communication command that is supported by the target PLC model, or upgrade the firmware.
