Symptoms
The compressor discharge temperature exceeds 105C (221F), triggering a high-temperature warning alarm. The controller reduces load to prevent oil degradation.
Possible Causes
- Insufficient cooling airflow due to clogged cooler fins or blocked ventilation
- Low oil level or degraded oil reducing heat transfer efficiency
- Ambient temperature exceeding the rated 40C (104F) maximum
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the air-oil cooler for dirt buildup and clean with compressed air or solvent cleaner
Airflow through the cooler should be unobstructed; fins should show no clogging - Step 2: Check the oil level sight glass and verify oil is between the MIN and MAX marks
Add approved compressor oil if level is below MIN - Step 3: Measure the ambient temperature near the compressor intake
If above 40C, improve room ventilation or consider relocating the intake to a cooler zone
How to Reset
Reset: After the discharge temperature drops below 95C, press the Alarm Reset button on the controller. The alarm clears automatically.
