AKD
Symptoms
The AKD reports a data backup failure. The parameter backup operation to non-volatile memory did not complete successfully.
Possible Causes
- Power loss during the EEPROM write cycle
- EEPROM memory cell degradation due to excessive write cycles
- Internal data bus error during the backup operation
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Retry the backup operation with stable power in the drive
Backup completes successfully on retry - Step 2: If the error recurs, reload default parameters and reconfigure
Parameters are restored to known-good values - Step 3: If the EEPROM is defective, replace the drive unit
New unit backs up data without errors
How to Reset
To reset: Retry the backup with stable power, then cycle power.
