Symptoms
The lubrication system reports a pump motor overload. The oil pump motor current has exceeded the rated value.
Possible Causes
- Pump mechanical jam from seized bearing or gear
- Oil viscosity too high for the operating temperature
- Motor bearing failure causing drag
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the pump mechanism for jamming
Pump rotates freely - Step 2: Verify the oil viscosity is correct for the temperature
Viscosity is within the specified range - Step 3: Check motor bearings for noise and heat
Bearings are in good condition
How to Reset
To reset: Clear the overload cause, then reset the motor protection.
