Rexroth IndraDrive HCS Error Code F6044

Rexroth PLC & VFD Major System

Model: IndraDrive HCS | Code: F6044

Applicable Systems
EFC FEX FEI HNC

Symptoms

Negative travel limit switch activated. The negative direction hardware limit switch has been triggered. Motion in the negative direction is immediately halted.

Possible Causes

  • Motor reached the negative hardware limit switch
  • Limit switch mounting loose, triggering prematurely
  • Limit switch roller arm stuck in triggered position
  • Mechanical shock or vibration causing momentary switch activation

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check if the motor is actually at the negative end of travel
Motor is at the negative mechanical limit position
  2. Step 2: If not at the limit, inspect the switch for mechanical damage
Switch is intact and not stuck in the triggered position
  3. Step 3: Verify switch mounting is secure and positioned correctly
Switch is firmly mounted at the correct position
  4. Step 4: If the switch is defective, replace it
New switch triggers only at the correct position

How to Reset

1) Determine if motor is actually at the limit. 2) If yes, jog in positive direction to clear. 3) If no, inspect/replace switch. 4) Reset fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: What should I do if the motor is genuinely at the negative limit?

Jog the motor in the positive direction to move away from the limit switch. The switch will clear, and you can reset the fault and resume normal operation.

  • Q: How do I prevent false limit switch triggers from vibration?

Use debounce filters in the drive's digital input configuration. Set a debounce time of 2-5ms to filter out momentary contact bounce from vibration.
