Symptoms
The Roland printing press displays error R004, indicating sheet pileup at the delivery end. Sheets are not being delivered into the delivery pile correctly, causing jams or damage.
Possible Causes
- Delivery chain gripper bars worn or gripping pressure insufficient
- Delivery pile height sensor misaligned or failed
- Anti-setoff spray system not functioning, causing ink offset
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the delivery gripper pads and closing cams
Pads are intact and gripper bars close with firm pressure on the sheet edge - Step 2: Check the delivery pile sensor alignment and function
Sensor detects the pile top accurately and triggers the jogger and pile change - Step 3: Verify the anti-setoff powder is dispensing evenly across the sheet
Powder coverage is uniform and the dispensing nozzles are not clogged
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Replace worn gripper pads and adjust pressure. 2) Realign the pile sensor. 3) Clear any powder clogs. 4) Press RESET and resume production.
