Street Crane Street Crane Overhead Crane Error Code ST009

Street Crane Crane Major Wind

Model: Street Crane Overhead Crane | Code: ST009

Applicable Systems
Street Crane Overhead Crane

Symptoms

The Street Crane system displays alarm ST009, indicating high wind speed warning. The wind speed sensor on the crane has detected wind exceeding the safe operating limit, requiring the crane to stop outdoor operation.

Possible Causes

  • Actual wind speed has exceeded the crane's rated maximum operating wind speed, typically 20 m/s for outdoor cranes
  • Wind speed sensor has drifted or has ice buildup, causing a false high-speed reading
  • Sensor mounting is loose, causing the anemometer to spin erratically and report false high speeds

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check the actual wind speed against the crane's rated maximum operating wind speed
Actual wind speed is below the rated maximum for safe crane operation
  2. Step 2: Verify the wind speed sensor reading against a portable handheld anemometer
Sensor reading matches the portable anemometer within 10 percent at the current wind speed
  3. Step 3: Inspect the sensor mounting for looseness and check for ice or debris on the cups or vane
Sensor is securely mounted and the cups or vane are clean and free of ice or debris

How to Reset

To reset: 1) Wait for the wind to subside below the rated limit. 2. Replace or recalibrate the sensor. 3. Secure the sensor mounting. 4. Press RESET. 5. Verify the crane operates safely at the current wind speed.
