Uhlmann Blister Machine
Symptoms
The Uhlmann blister machine displays alarm U009, indicating a vacuum pump fault. The vacuum system that supports forming and product handling is not achieving the required vacuum level.
Possible Causes
- Vacuum pump has failed or is running at reduced capacity due to a worn vane or a clogged inlet filter
- Vacuum line is kinked, blocked, or has a loose fitting causing a leak that the pump cannot overcome
- Vacuum reservoir has a leak or the drain valve is not fully closed, preventing the system from reaching vacuum
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check the vacuum pump operation and the inlet filter condition
Pump runs smoothly and the inlet filter is clean with no blockage - Step 2: Inspect all vacuum lines for kinks, blockages, or loose fittings
All lines are clear, not kinked, and all fittings are tight with no audible leaks - Step 3: Test the vacuum reservoir and drain valve for leaks
Reservoir holds vacuum and the drain valve is fully closed with no leakage
How to Reset
To reset: 1) Replace or repair the vacuum pump. 2) Repair or replace vacuum lines. 3. Close or replace the drain valve. 4. Press RESET. 5. Verify the system reaches the required vacuum level within 10 seconds.
