Symptoms
The compressor reports a low oil level alarm. The oil level in the separator is below the minimum safe level.
Possible Causes
- Oil carried out with refrigerant due to low gas velocity
- System leak causing oil loss over time
- Oil separator demister damaged allowing oil carry-over
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Check oil level in the separator sight glass
Oil level is at or above the minimum mark - Step 2: Inspect the system for leaks and repair as needed
No active leaks detected in the system - Step 3: Check the oil separator demister for damage
Demister is intact and functioning correctly
How to Reset
To reset: Add approved oil to the proper level, then clear the alarm on the controller.
