Applicable Systems
Copeland Scroll Compressor (CoreSense/Comfort Alert)
Symptoms
The compressor reports a sensor fault. One or more temperature or pressure sensors are reading out of range or returning invalid data.
Possible Causes
- Sensor element failed open or shorted
- Sensor wiring damaged or connector corroded
- Sensor calibration drift exceeding acceptable limits
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Identify the faulty sensor from the diagnostic display
Faulty sensor location is identified - Step 2: Test the sensor resistance or voltage output against the manufacturer chart
Reading matches the expected value for current temperature or pressure - Step 3: Replace the faulty sensor if output is out of specification
New sensor reads correctly and fault clears
How to Reset
To reset: Replace or repair the faulty sensor, then clear the fault code from the controller.
