Symptoms
The air conditioner reports an outdoor fan motor fault. The outdoor condenser fan motor is not operating.
Possible Causes
- Motor winding failure
- Motor run capacitor failure
- Fan blade damage or obstruction
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Test the motor winding resistance
Resistance is within specification - Step 2: Check the run capacitor capacitance
Capacitor is within rated value - Step 3: Inspect fan blades for damage
Blades are intact and balanced
How to Reset
To reset: Repair or replace the outdoor fan motor, then clear the fault.
