Symptoms
The i950 reports a motor ground fault. Leakage current to ground was detected in the motor circuit, indicating insulation breakdown.
Possible Causes
- Motor winding insulation breakdown to the motor frame
- Motor cable insulation damage exposing conductor to ground
- Moisture or water ingress in the motor or junction box
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Test the motor winding insulation to ground with a megger
Insulation resistance is above the minimum threshold - Step 2: Inspect the motor cable for physical damage or water ingress
Cable insulation is intact and dry - Step 3: Repair or replace any motor or cable with failed insulation
Ground fault is cleared after repair
How to Reset
To reset: Fix the motor ground fault, then reset the fault and restart.
