Model: MAN Roland Offset Printing Machine | Code: MR005

Applicable Systems
MAN Roland Offset Printing Machine

Symptoms

The MAN Roland press displays error MR005, indicating front guide inaccuracy. The front lays that register the sheet edge are not stopping the sheet consistently, causing front-to-back register errors.

Possible Causes

  • Front lay cam worn or timing adjusted incorrectly
  • Front lay springs fatigued or broken, causing weak stopping force
  • Sheet air blast disturbing the sheet before the lays contact

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Step 1: Check the front lay cam profile and follower wear
Cam is smooth with no flat spots and the follower roller is round and free
  2. Step 2: Test the front lay spring tension against specification
Springs return the lays to the stop position with crisp, consistent force
  3. Step 3: Adjust the sheet slowing blast to avoid overshoot
Air blast slows the sheet gently without lifting it from the feed table

How to Reset

To reset: 1) Replace worn cams or springs. 2) Adjust the front lay timing. 3) Calibrate the slowing blast. 4) Press RESET and run a register check.
