Symptoms
LCD shows vertical dark bands and color bleeding on the right half of the screen.
Possible Causes
- Tab bonding failure between LCD glass and COF/TCP driver IC on the right edge.
- Excessive pressure applied to the bezel during previous maintenance.
- Ambient temperature cycling causing differential expansion of the LCD stack.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Step 1: Inspect the bezel screws for over-torque marks or stripped threads.
All screws are at the specified 0.5 Nm and the bezel is not warped. - Step 2: Run the GOT built-in LCD test pattern (solid colors and gradient bars).
Defect is visible on all test patterns, confirming panel fault not video signal issue. - Step 3: Measure the internal ambient temperature near the LCD during peak operation.
Temperature is within 0–50 C and thermal management is adequate.
How to Reset
Replace the LCD panel assembly; verify bezel torque and thermal management during reassembly.
